Within a stockless/just-in-time distribution environment, which by definition and design provides minimal to no safety-stock, has direct responsibility for the replacement of clinical/ancillary unit supplies. Is responsible for rotating stock and checking expiration dates monthly. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Staff assignments\: Central Distribution, Courier and Receiver, copy center. Receives incoming materials, supplies, and equipment, and reconciles shipping documents with corresponding purchase orders. Inspects shipments for damages, defects or discrepancies. Records information and notifies Purchasing personnel or Supervisor. Inputs receiving information into Materials Management Information system accurately and in a timely manner. Separates and stages incoming goods for distribution to appropriate department or entity. Coordinates items for shipment by commercial conveyance by preparing billing of lading and/or other documents as required. Assists with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies. Routes all equipment to Bio Medical/ Clinical Engineering for required electrical safety inspections prior to delivery to appropriate department or entity. Runs all necessary Materials Management System routines to facilitate inventory re-stock, bar code scanning, JIT, EDI and Sub-Inventory maintenance. Responds to and processes all requests for copy requests, supplies via Par-Level Inventory process, direct contact, phone/voice mail and /or direction from Central Distribution Manager. Manages and restocks disaster carts, copy machines, mail machine and/or any specialty supply carts as needed. Maintains and cleans Central Distribution Department specific supply storage carts and shelves. Picks up and delivers supplies, orders, and incoming/outgoing and interfacility mail to all departments of Falmouth Hospital Participates in educational programs, in-services and meetings as required. Recognizes/understands responsibility of this key role and the responsibility this position demands in the direct support of high quality patient care delivery regardless of assignment. This will be measured by the accountability/initiative taken in the performance of daily duties and assignments. Ability to work independently. Complies with policies regarding the wearing of department provided uniforms. Performs other duties as requested.
