About The Position

The Materials Associate II position at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center is a full-time role requiring 80 hours per pay period on a day shift. The facility is an award-winning, certified, and accredited medical center with 541 beds, recognized for its advanced care in various medical fields. The position involves working under the supervision of the Manager of Materials Distribution to provide essential supply distribution services to assigned customers, ensuring that the hospital's supply needs are met efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • No specific education required; any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill, and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job.
  • Preference may be given to individuals possessing a high school diploma or GED.
  • No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Count and replenish par level supply carts using handheld computers and the MMIS.
  • Enter stock issues and direct patient charges into the MMIS.
  • Provide stock labeling assistance as directed.
  • Restock the operating rooms and deliver case supplies to the O/R.
  • Deliver orders and shipments to end user departments as assigned.
  • Reconcile patient charges and issues using the MMIS.
  • Aid in the cycle count and physical inventory processes as directed.
  • Perform equipment-tracking functions using equipment management software.
  • Count and replenish stock on code carts and isolation carts.
  • Provide training and education to peer staff on topics such as par management, use of handheld technologies, and patient charging.
  • Maintain professional communications with customers and support personnel via telephone or in person.
  • Replenish surgical case carts as assigned.
  • Clean and decontaminate patient rental equipment according to policy guidelines.
  • Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Complete required education assignments annually.
  • Work toward achieving goals and objectives, and participate in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
