Requirements

  • Knowledge of a variety of materials and process engineering disciplines including non-metals, adhesives, bonding, cleaning, failure analysis, and manufacturing operations.
  • Materials and processes related experience and/or field of study.
  • Formal coursework, training, experience and/or knowledge in Materials or Processes for development, improvement, design, application and production.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Successful applicants will typically possess 2 years of professional experience with a minimum education level of Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline (Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry / Chemical Engineering, Physics, or other Engineering related fields).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with general aerospace materials and processes.
  • Familiarity with technical requirements (material and process specifications, program requirements, etc.).
  • Non-conformance and failure analysis disposition experience.
  • Understanding of material properties definitions.
  • Material Science & Engineering, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering B.S.
  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Active or Current DoD Security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Select Materials, and Processes (M&P) on new designs that will help defend our country.
  • Get hands-on manufacturing experience of the next satellite.
  • Provide oversight to an extensive supply chain providing products critical to Mission Success.
  • Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments.
  • Troubleshoot problems and find innovative solutions.
  • Participate in the selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials & processes.
  • Prepare technical and progress reports on assigned tasks.
  • Prepare specifications, evaluate suppliers and analyze test reports.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines such as Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
