About The Position

The Materials and Planning Analyst will be responsible for collaborating with various departments including Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Planning, and Program Leads to establish and maintain the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM). This includes modifications to the Design Engineering BOM structure for Ease of Manufacturing purposes. The role involves maintaining and monitoring Part Master data and Product Structure in MRP systems throughout the lifecycle of the parts and MBOMs, incorporating changes as specified within approved Engineering Change documents, and managing effective dates to minimize inventory position and reduce residual inventory. The analyst will also define and communicate actions required by other organizations to implement Engineering Changes into work-in-process material and/or purchase material. Daily activities will require excellent analytic skills to analyze all planning functions, load to MRP appropriately, identify improvement opportunities, and lead continuous improvement projects. The analyst will participate in problem-solving with requestors to resolve conflicts between requestor needs and existing records or company policies, and must have a complete understanding of the end-to-end supply chain to meet customer needs.

Requirements

  • Typically require a university degree with 2-4 years of experience in supply chain and/or operations or a related field.
  • Alternatively, an Associate's degree with 4 years of experience or 6 years of experience in the absence of a degree.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Planning, and Program Leads to establish and maintain the Manufacturing Bill of Material (MBOM).
  • Maintain and monitor Part Master data and Product Structure in MRP systems throughout the lifecycle of the parts and MBOMs.
  • Incorporate changes to the MBOM as specified within approved Engineering Change documents.
  • Partner with MPS/IPLs and/or PC/ME to manage effective dates to minimize inventory position and reduce residual inventory.
  • Define and communicate actions required by other organizations to implement Engineering Changes into work-in-process material and/or purchase material.
  • Acquire basic understanding of application of standards to MBOM data and unique data coding standards.
  • Analyze all planning functions, load to MRP appropriately, identify improvement opportunities, and lead continuous improvement projects.
  • Review and process material master and bill of material requests to ensure appropriateness and quality.
  • Participate in problem-solving with requestors to resolve conflicts between requestor needs and existing records or company policies.
  • Understand the end-to-end supply chain to support meeting customer needs.
