About The Position

To receive all shipments of materials and supplies and check them against orders, invoices, and other required records. To be thoroughly familiar with commonly stocked items for all departments and their location in storage and to issues, transfer, and ship these items, To be thoroughly familiar with all standard parts and materials lists used by the Company and to have a working knowledge of all available substitutes. To perform general housekeeping duties and building and facilities maintenance and repairs as required, To properly handle, transport and store all types of materials and be capable of operating mechanical equipment for such work as required. To have a good knowledge of the inventory control programs and to requisition or report the need of replacements or the presence of surpluses as required, To have a good knowledge of the inventory control programs and to requisition or report the need of replacements or the presence of surpluses as required. To be capable of maintaining and preparing all records involved in stock handling. To transport materials between various locations, as required. To make periodic inspections of the Department's PCB and non-PCB equipment and oil storage areas. To be thoroughly familiar with the NASC PCB inventory records. To become familiar with the operation of the MMS system. To have a working knowledge of the oil processing system. Must maintain an adequate inventory of material for oil spill response. Assists as Rigger to supplement, Rigger Mechanic crews in phases of this class including rigging work, delivery, and setting pad mount transformers over 1000 KVA, to remote sites, delivery, and operating mobile crane vehicle involving substation recloser work, etc. Perform daily crane inspection at NASC and on mobile equipment per OSHA requirements. Perform all related NASC facility repairs and related environmental requirements. Perform all related duties pertaining to NASC Hazardous Waste License. Clean up oil spills with related record keeping, Become familiar with the Company's operating standards, policies, safety instructions, regulations and directives pertaining to the assignments. Must have a working knowledge of PCB and hazardous waste handling and manifest preparations. Must be able to perform on call duties for one week every few weeks or fill in as needed. Perform other appropriate duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and preferably additional commercial training.
  • Must have a valid CDL Class B Driver's License and any other permits or license requirements for the job.
  • Must reside within an acceptable distance (45 minutes) from their regular reporting location or be willing to relocate within nine months of transfer and be available for emergency assignments.
  • Must keep current with technology changes
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions, respond to emergency assignments and be available to work assigned overtime.
