The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them. | WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR Slate is seeking a Material Systems Analyst to play a pivotal role in the enhancement, and integration of critical automotive material systems, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Kanban, and part kitting solutions. This position centers on data analysis, inventory trend analysis, and the facilitation of process improvements designed to elevate operational efficiency across production control and manufacturing functions. The ideal candidate will possess experience with material systems, data analytics, and process documentation, skillfully leveraging data-driven insights to optimize material flow, parts tracking, and inventory accuracy

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in data Analytics, Project Management, Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience working with material systems, inventory management, or supply chain analytics.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel or Power BI.
  • Strong experience in WMS, Kanban, material pull, and ERP platforms.
  • Expertise in data analytics, data mining, KPI development, and production workflow optimization.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Material Planning team by efficiently extracting and consolidating information from multiple databases to populate the part master. Likewise, assist the material flow team by gathering data required to develop the plan for every part, ensuring data accuracy and availability for operational planning.
  • Drive the part-related deviation process by proactively partnering with engineering and other cross-functional teams, collaborating closely with material planning and warehouse management to ensure timely disposition or reallocation. This supports uninterrupted production flow and minimizes operational disruptions.
  • Work alongside engineering, material planning, and warehouse teams to continuously monitor, track, and implement strategies that proactively reduce material obsolescence resulting from change management activities.
  • Gather and analyze operational data to uncover trends, maintain optimal inventory levels, and generate comprehensive logistics performance reports.
  • Identify, track, and coordinate the resolution of inventory discrepancies and non-conformities to uphold inventory accuracy and system integrity.
  • Lead the management of part-related deviations through close coordination with engineering and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring swift resolution and process alignment.
  • Develop foundational analytics reports and dashboards using Power BI or similar tools, with guidance as needed, to visualize and communicate key Production Control metrics.
  • Apply data mining techniques to refine demand forecasting and pinpoint process bottlenecks, driving continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with IT and Production Control teams to enable real-time material tracking, thereby enhancing operational visibility and decision-making.
  • Establish and monitor KPI frameworks to rigorously assess material flow efficiency, production control effectiveness, and overall system performance.
  • Thoroughly document business processes and contribute to standardization initiatives to drive consistency and efficiency within the supply chain function.
  • Maintain, enhance, and support WMS, Kanban, and kitting systems to ensure seamless material flow and effective inventory management.
