The Material Specialist will perform tasks that are in alignment with the Core Logistics Functions of Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, Mail, and Delivery. The following list is not inclusive and other tasking may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED).
• Experience in the Logistics functions of Receiving, Storing, Issuing, Inventory, Delivery, Packing, and/or Shipping.
• Experience reading, writing, and comprehending written or verbal instructions.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Excellent Powered Industrial Truck Operation Skills.
• Proven knowledge & use of power and hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Loads, unloads, and moves materials, property and misc. items on and off incoming trucks or vehicles.
• Opens containers, cartons, wood crates, bundles, or other similar items using hand tools.
• Sorts and prioritizes mail and materials for processing based on established priorities.
• Identifies and reports any obvious damage to materials and property.
• Records and/or updates various internal and external logs, forms, and documentation.
• Attaches identifying tags, markings, and labeling to material, property, handling, staging, storage and shipment containers.
• Performs packaging of materials, property or misc. items utilizing available supplies.
• Utilizes various electrical or mechanical equipment to perform Core Logistics tasking.
• Ensures all required equipment is in proper working condition and preventative maintenance has been performed before and after use.
