About The Position

The Material Specialist- OSS will be responsible for receiving and processing repaired turbine parts that have returned from outside vendors following their repair and ensure the associated paperwork is compliant. The parts are unpackaged and inspected to ensure they are not damaged and necessary processing procedures are followed. Safety, Quality and On-Time delivery are of the upmost importance. Also, eventually you will learn the role of packaging the parts to prepare them for shipment

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a warehouse, stockroom, or storage yard
  • Ability to be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Strong verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to actively work on multiple tasks at the same time
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English language
  • Previous Material Handling 1 year experience
  • Computer skills (Oracle, MS Outlook, MS Excel or another warehouse management system)
  • Able to read, write, and communicate in English language and all other duties assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified to operate a forklift or ability to be certified under Aero Alliance standards
  • Certified in crane and rigging operations
  • Ability to operate a forklift over 15,000 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Un-package parts to ensure they are not damaged in transit utilizing power tools
  • Adhere to procedures and ensure parts are routed to the accumulation department
  • Communicate status of pending parts with the Material Coordinators
  • Enter data into SFM and Oracle as part of the parts receiving process
  • Trouble shoot material related issues to include interaction with the fulfillment team
  • Work with quality team and utilize the eNCR system concerning parts defects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
  • Great attention to detail while working to a deadline.
  • Self-starter, positive attitude, work well with others, and strive to implement continuous improvement projects.
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining an individual workload.
  • The ability to perform job duties with a sense of urgency and focused on safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills in English.
  • Train new employees as required.
  • Ability to function in a face paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and requests
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
