The Material Specialist ll will support material requirements by moving product into the facility, moving manufactured product out of the facility, delivering purchased material to the production areas, and delivering small parts ( both purchased and manufactured) to the production areas.

Responsibilities

  • Verifying delivery of material to receive from carrier and supplier documents
  • Receive material into the company business system to meet a 24 hour receipt period
  • Responsible for accurate receipt of material
  • Responsible for accurate staging, put-away, issuing, and processing of material
  • Responsible for verifying damaged material from carrier prior to signing BOL. Damaged material must be documented and individuals notified (Manager, Buyer, and Quality Control).
  • Perform cycle counts or physical inventories as required
  • Understand how to navigate through the company business system
  • Able to use scanning devices to enter data into company business system
  • Understand how to resolve material discrepancies with supplier deliveries and inventory errors
  • Understand how to accurately count material using counting methods and scales
  • Identify aged inventory (OSMI)
  • Operate forklift, pallet jacks, cranes and other manual or motorized equipment as required to support material movement
  • Able to safety load/unload box trucks, vans, flatbeds using forklifts or other material movers
  • Understand the safety requirements when operating machinery
  • Able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and stand for long periods of time
  • Responsible for the organization and work center cleanliness
  • Understand how to operate Salvagnini machine (IFL Tower)
  • Understand how to efficiently load the Salvagnini using the computer to move material from the table to tower location
  • Understand shortages and making sure material availability of steel is supporting daily tower operations
  • Communicate and pull steel from warehouse to support operations
  • Keep the Salvagnini loaded with material. There should be no material staged on the floor at the end of each shift.
  • Make sure safety precautions are practiced when loading and unloading is required
  • Other duties as required
