The Quality Engineering co-op associate will be assigned a manager and a mentor for each rotation. They may or may not be the same for both rotations. The student will work at times in an office environment and other times in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures. The associate will work with other like Engineering employees working on projects that have a real impact to the business. Other day-to-day aspects of industrial work at our facility may include assisting with maintenance, repairs, project planning, and other tasks as assigned. The Quality Co-Op will gain experience and training across both our casting and extrusion production units through rotations and mentorship by senior metallurgists.

  • Refine the processing limits of existing alloy systems to continually increase manufacturing robustness.
  • Review revisions in quality documentation and implement changes to ensure all technical requirements are met.
  • Determine root causes of deviations and implement effective corrective and preventative actions to minimize future disruption to manufacturing.
  • Work actively on continuous improvement and cost reductions to achieve the company's financial objectives.
  • Must be currently enrolled at Purdue University in Materials Engineering Bachelor's degree program.
  • Minimum 1 year of engineering coursework completed.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • 3.0 GPA and above
