About The Position

The Material Resource Manager leads end-to-end inventory control and material purchasing for our Nashville facility, ensuring material availability, inventory accuracy, and vendor compliance that enable business‑critical card manufacturing and personalization services. You partner closely with Operations, Client Services, Finance, and Production to balance customer demand, production schedules, and inventory investment. You drive strong controls, data accuracy, and service levels while coaching the team and continuously improving processes and systems.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in inventory and materials management and purchasing in a manufacturing or business‑to-business (B2B) services environment using ERP/inventory systems to support production operations.
  • 3+ years of experience managing and developing teams responsible for inventory control and purchasing.
  • 3+ years of experience executing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to convert demand and production schedules into planned orders, maintain planning parameters (lead times, safety stock, lot sizes), analyze exception messages, and release/expedite/cancel purchase and work orders to meet on time production targets.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, Finance or related field or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM or CSCP certification, or equivalent knowledge of planning and inventory control.
  • Experience with the PACE purchasing system and card manufacturing/personalization operations.
  • Experience applying Lean or Six Sigma methods to improve inventory and purchasing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels by monitoring demand, usage trends, lead times, and reorder thresholds to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Lead and oversee inventory control activities, including cycle counts, physical inventories, and reconciliation of variances.
  • Oversee and approve purchasing in the PACE purchasing system; verify pricing, quantities, and general ledger coding; ensure three-way match and timely submission to Accounts Payable.
  • Manage custom material purchasing for client‑specific jobs and coordinate delivery to meet client and production commitments.
  • Partner with Operations, Client Services, Finance, and Production to align material availability with production schedules and support pricing and cost‑optimization initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the inventory control team; train and cross‑train on standard work, controls, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) transactions; build a culture of accountability and service.
  • Prepare and present reporting on inventory accuracy, job volume, material usage, and operational metrics; identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
