Come be the change! We are looking for a Material Quality Tester in Winston-Salem, NC. This entry-level position reports to the Quality Specialist Material and has no direct reports. The role involves ensuring that assigned materials perform well in manufacturing, monitoring supplier performance, conducting reviews, and developing material/vendor qualifications. The position requires collaboration with various areas of the business, including Operations, plant personnel, R&D, and outside vendors. The tester will monitor and address material concerns, identify defective materials, provide guidance for troubleshooting, analyze material performance issues, and ensure suppliers meet commitments for successful material performance.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, MES, Excel, and Word.
  • Knowledge of material and machine interaction.
  • Knowledge of Specification and Manufacturing systems.
  • Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn and perform various duties.
  • Demonstrated understanding of computer applications, systems, and programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of standard Quality guidelines and procedures.
  • WorkKeys: Applied Math Level 3, Workplace Documents Level 3, Graphic Literacy Level 3, Workplace Observation Level 2.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure assigned materials perform well in Manufacturing.
  • Monitor supplier's performance and conduct reviews.
  • Develop and monitor material/vendor qualifications and maintain contingency plans.
  • Interact and collaborate with various areas of the business including Operations, plant personnel, R&D, and outside vendors.
  • Monitor and address material concerns to maintain efficient quality-driven production.
  • Identify and isolate defective materials and document issues in the database.
  • Provide guidance to manufacturing personnel for troubleshooting material complaints.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop timely resolutions for material issues.
  • Analyze material performance issues and collaborate with manufacturing to drive solutions.
  • Ensure suppliers meet commitments for successful material performance through frequent communication and auditing.
