About The Position

The primary responsibility of a Material Processor is the safe, timely, and accurate processing of materials through the supply chain utilizing various equipment, as necessary. This includes system transactions and physical movement of material from receipt through stocking. This position is located at the Hitachi Global Air Power manufacturing plant in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the Area Supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum five years of material handling experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Demonstrated experience safely and proficiently utilizing material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, fork trucks, and cranes to move large and bulky loads
  • Ability to pass fork truck driving test

Responsibilities

  • Proper receipt, disposition, and stocking of incoming materials
  • Timely replenishment and stocking of materials for production processes
  • Timely removal and proper disposal of production scrap and waste
  • Internal Cycle Counting/Inventory Management - conduct all system transactions accurately to reach inventory accuracy targets of 98%
  • Support finished goods shipment, movement, and stocking for B1 inventory
  • Strict adherence to safety and quality procedures in all activities performed
