About The Position

The Integrated Materials & Structures Technology Team within Boeing Technology Innovation (BTI) is seeking a Materials & Process Engineer (Associate, Mid Level or Senior) – Composites Materials, Process, & Physics Engineer (MP&P) to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This team is part of the Composites, Materials, & Structures organization within BTI. This group has a dual mission to 1) Execute Research and Development in the technical area of next-generation thermoset composites, with a particular focus on Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) relevant materials and 2) Develop and mature applications for these new materials through advanced design and manufacturing demonstrator programs to de-risk and accelerate adoption by BDS programs. This experienced engineer will lead material selection, process development, characterization, and troubleshooting of polymer matrix and fiber-reinforced composite systems for aerospace applications. They also will be asked to lead manufacturing risk reduction demonstration programs to de-risk and accelerate adoption of new composite materials and manufacturing processes for BDS programs. This role offers hands-on exposure to lab-scale manufacturing processes, mechanical and physical/chemical testing, data analysis, and cross-functional project work with early career and senior engineers.
