Material Planning Assistant

About The Position

The Material Planner Assistant will support production planning and supply chain operations by performing functions that assist planners with essential daily tasks. This role plays a critical part in ensuring efficient workflow, material availability, and on-time delivery performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years’ planning experience, preferably in a complex manufacturing environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a dynamic change environment and drive the necessary intensity that environment requires.
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional and supplier interactions
  • Proficient computer knowledge and ability; Microsoft Excel, Word & Outlook, ERP systems and others as role scope requires (ERP/MRP systems experience preferred)
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of RAMI products, processes, and customer specific requirements.
  • Highly dependable, motivated, and self-driven with excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Print, compile, and distribute production jobs to the appropriate work centers to support daily operations
  • Proactively monitor and follow up on late or delayed jobs to maintain production schedules
  • Enter and maintain accurate forecast data (Automotive and Harris accounts)
  • Update the Master Production Schedule (MPS) as needed to reflect changing priorities and demand
  • Perform accurate and timely data entry across planning systems
  • Generate and maintain weekly reports, including Planner Workbench analysis
  • Monitor material availability for subcontracted jobs to ensure continuity of supply
  • Track and resolve negative inventory balances for both manufactured and purchased components
  • Manage Brady Sleeves job maintenance, including printing and updates
  • Maintain and update shortage tracking within the monthly sales file
  • Support additional planning and administrative tasks as assigned
