About The Position

Responsible for the ordering and parts in house availability of direct production parts to support BMW and JiT/TOD call-offs. Includes the oversight and coordination of inbound/outbound foreign and domestic transportation via sea, air, and surface.

Requirements

• Associates degree
• 2-4+ years related experience
• Working knowledge of MRP software and SAP
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent communications and written skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and must demonstrate very good Microsoft Excel skill set
• Strong data input accuracy and detail oriented

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) processes.
• German or Spanish language as primary or secondary language set.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a backup liaison between customer and company in the Materials function.
• Orders production materials via SAP to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinates carriers/containers for inbound/outbound material delivery to meet customer demand.
• Ensures all requirements of the Foreign Trade Zone as it relates to Materials are met.
• Identifies and recommends cost reduction opportunities.
• Coordinates with other Materials Planners, Logistics Materials Coordinator, shipping and receiving and other internal/external resources in daily operations and material flow activities.
• Coordinates with ECR Coordinator any Engineering part number changes in a timely manner without obsolescence.
• Works with the Inventory Planning & Control Supervisor and the Purchasing Department on new projects.
• Coordinates Customs and Brokerage issues for production materials.
• Investigates and responds to any inventory discrepancies to ensure compliance with the Foreign Trade Zone.
• Other duties and projects that relate to this position.
• Coordination of SKD/CKD ordering and shipping activities to meet customer demand.
• Track and document all expedited, ocean and ground freight costs.
• Compliance with all Internal and External Production Quality Management Systems and Group Directives.
• Perform pre-audit of all freight invoices to verify rate/service requirements.
