About The Position

Hexcel is currently seeking a Material Planner for our Kent, WA, USA location. You will be responsible for all activities related to the master production plan (MPP) as pertains to the site. This includes production planning according to planned capacity and the planned procurement and inventory of all production materials. Summary pay range: $50,042 - $85,786 annual salary (non-exempt).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and previous experience using MRP/ERP systems and principles, preferably Microsoft Dynamics/AX.
  • Previous scheduling background preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office required, high proficiency preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of data management systems required.
  • Must be an effective communicator with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be driven, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for determining and operationally managing interplant demand requirements.
  • Coordinate with other departments to assist and manage aged orders, support customer requirements, assist with capacity and manpower planning and act as liaison between Purchasing and Manufacturing.
  • Plan and schedule work orders for production.
  • Manage configuration changes through change board.
  • Attend and/or lead program status meetings and develop program metrics for both management and customer review.
  • Ensure the plan is developed within the existing system (AX2012) and act upon exceptions and alerts as required.
  • Participate in weekly and periodical scheduling meetings, resolve issues and follow actions arising from meetings such as re-prioritization and expediting of supply of critical products.
  • Ensure Master Data updates and parameters are maintained correctly in BOM's in a timely manner.
  • Review all process yields annually and update all master data accordingly.
  • Deliver supply plans without interruption due to material shortages.
  • Work with Procurement to ensure that all Production Materials are being received in appropriate order quantities and frequencies.
  • Follow the inventory policies/strategy set by the Materials Control Manager and the US Supply Chain Manager.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to review Projected Inventory on medium to long term basis and resulting Storage Requirements.
  • Provide periodic analysis of Monthly and Yearly inventory projections.
