About The Position

Prepares lists of materials, accessories, and parts used in production following engineering and design blueprints. Examines blueprints, identifies parts code, computes quantity needed, and lists total material requirements including contract numbers, routing, and special handling instructions. Submits list to purchasing department for use in preparing purchase orders. Plans, prepares, and coordinates material requirements to ensure they meet production schedules. Communicates those needs with others to ensure they are met. Advises management of the status of work in progress and potential problems to ensure that material and associated packages are provided as needed. Support material require needs for the conduct of testing on both new construction and overhaul carriers and other product lines as assigned. For GFE Systems work with the government test team members (SOS, GTT, ISEA, etc.) to expidate materials needed to complete system testing. For CFE systems work with vendors and buyers to expidate materials needed to complete system testing. Supports material delivery schedules, traveling to different warehouses both inside and outside the shipyard and delivery stations (FedEx) using company vehicle to drop of and pick up material and process the paperwork.

Requirements

  • High School/GED and 5 years of additional education and/or experience
  • US Citizenship Required for this Position: Yes
  • Clearance Required: Yes- Final Clearance Required to Start

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in SAP using the material functions is preferred.
