About The Position

Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the management, from acquisition to disposal, of all supplies and equipment used to support an institution or agency. These responsibilities include procurement, receipt, storage, control, issuance, inventory, delivery of material, equipment, records, agency mail, and other supplies used to support agency business practices. The functions performed in this job family will vary by level, unit and organization, but may include the following: Receives, issues, ships and arranges materials, equipment, records, agency mail and other supplies in proper locations using machinery as needed. Provides centralized mail services and /or performs centralized printing functions. Inspects items for conformance with specifications. Conducts inventories, maintains records, files reports, and performs administrative duties. Assists requisitioners in preparation of specifications. Acts as liaison to the agency purchasing agent/Central Purchasing. Supervises and trains subordinate personnel and edits requisitions and purchase orders. Confers with department heads, vendors, and outside agencies concerning purchases, deliveries, and acceptability of supplies. Coordinates with other units/divisions as needed to clarify policy, procedure and determine status for a wide range of service and support related requests, which may include the acquisition, storage, disbursement and/or disposal of assets and records.

Requirements

  • two years experience in receipt, storage, or stock handling work, issuance of material, customer service, or clerical office work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Skill is required to operate a forklift
  • Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.
  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill all job-related travel normally associated with this position.
  • Some positions may require performing moderately heavy lifting or other manual tasks.
  • The Office of Juvenile Affairs may require applicants to lift/carry 70 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently and to push and pull a maximum force of 40 pounds.
