About The Position

The Material Handling Utility position consists of, but is not limited to, the operations of shipping cranes, pole trucks, forklifts, banding coils, packaging coils both with an automated wrapping machine and by hand, assisting in the loading of rail cars, barges and trucks, general housekeeping of the department, or a variety of other tasks related to the successful operation of the shipping department. This greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

• 6+ months previous experience in a shipping atmosphere.
• An impeccable safety track record characterized by consistently adhering to and promoting stringent safety protocols.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience operating forklift, overhead crane, or other mobile equipment.

Responsibilities
