About The Position

The Unit Manager will supervise employees and provide leadership to attain plant and Material Handling objectives. The successful candidate should possess the ability to prioritize multiple demands and distribute resources accordingly, take initiative in the work area and inspire others to do the same, be a persistent problem solver and team player, assume accountability for the team's performance, demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills, and have an understanding of manufacturing operations. The role requires effective interaction with employees, peers, and all levels of management.

Requirements

  • Previous work experience in a fast paced production environment.
  • Application of problem solving tools such as fish bone, 5 why, root cause pareto diagrams.
  • Ability to lead by example and drive key metrics in safety, on-time delivery, shortage reduction, cost.
  • Knowledge and experience in lean material flow to a production line.
  • Engage in effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Completion of; or currently engaged in a four year college degree in business or related field.
  • Three years of previous supervisory experience, or demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Experience with Supply Chain and Logistics tools and techniques and understanding of how the parts work together as a system.
  • Understanding of general materials metrics, materials flow, and inventory measures.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus.
