What this job involves We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Handling Technician to join our team. As a Specialist in Material Handling, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials, equipment, and supplies in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Your strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in material handling techniques will contribute to the smooth operations of our facility. What your day-to-day will look like: Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials and supplies according to established procedures Safely operate various material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move and transport materials within the facility Utilize inventory management systems to track and record material movements and maintain accurate inventory records Organize and maintain materials in designated storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, segregation, and adherence to first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory principles Collaborate with cross-functional teams to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of materials to production areas as per production schedules Perform routine inspections and maintenance of material handling equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and reporting any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor Adhere to safety guidelines, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to maintain a safe and compliant work environment Assist in the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance material handling processes and optimize the flow of materials Identify and report any discrepancies in material quantities, quality, or documentation to appropriate personnel for resolution Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including those related to safety, quality, and environmental standards The operator will be responsible for ERP reconciliation and data entry for completion of disposal forms to document our cradle-to-grave responsibility to our clients and regulators
