About The Position

Material Handling Team Leader Join Lantech as a Material Handling Team Leader in our CLIMATE CONTROLLED facility. We offer a 4-day work week with overtime opportunity, quarterly profitability bonuses , and TONS of opportunity for advancement. Our Team Leaders START at $21.50/hr 1st Shift: Mon - Thu, 6am - 4:30 pm Who are We? Lantech is widely recognized as the world leader in stretch wrapping technology. Here's a Glimpse at What you'll Do: Leadership of associates focused on various tasks related to inventory accuracy and general material handling functions. Ensuring orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution. Processes ECN's while maintaining shipment schedule and inventory. Maintains our Kanban system. D.T.S. machines into stock. Research part shortages as they relate to bills of materials, determining point of cause and implementing corrective action. Performs stock verifications and problem solving to determine discrepancies. Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping material and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory and reporting shortages. Work with Factory Leader on obsolete items and slow-moving parts in inventory. Provide training/support to our Material Presenters. Fill-in for Material Presenters during vacation/absences. Responsible for maintaining a highly organized environment, escalating issues as needed. Operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery to move items. What are We Looking For? (Requirements) We are looking for someone who: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to operate a forklift Ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook Capable of working in a fast-paced and ever-changing atmosphere Must be willing to learn all work related to conveyance; training new associates on the work and the process that supports it; take ownership of issues and drive resolution through problem solving; utilize quality loop process to manage issues; maintain LEAN philosophy/methodology and adhere to standard work procedures; support work and associates by ensuring a safe work environment; remove hard and tedious work by improving current condition. Must possess good problem-solving skills Must be detail oriented with a strong commitment to quality Is able to read and follow instructions in English (standardized work). Is able to work effectively in a team environment Practices safe work habits as an individual and with co-workers. Adheres to guidelines related to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Is a team-oriented individual with good interaction/communication skills. Is detail-oriented and able to work effectively within the fast-paced production environment. Knows safety equipment and is aware of machine safety procedures Is able to lift up to 50lbs Is able stand for 9-10 hours per day Is able to pass a pre-employment physical demand screen (includes a work simulation; lifting up to 50 lbs.) Is able to pass a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and background check. Is willing and able to work overtime to complete project and/or meet scheduling deadlines. Is legally authorized to work in the U.S. Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent. Additional training from vocational or trade school is a plus.
