The Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Operators are responsible for inspecting, operating, and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries. In addition, MHE Operators move materials and/or products using equipment to and from storage areas, fulfill customer orders, and maintain quality through our preferred methods.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Perform 8 or more hours of standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying products up to 50 lbs. in combination at any given time.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate counting ability.
  • Solid verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment which includes changes in temperature as the weather fluctuates, noise from conveyors and forklifts.
  • Knowledge with AS400 system (or similar computer system) and RF Scanner.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Forklift Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the operator's daily checklist before using the equipment.
  • Maintain the Distribution Center safety policy for all equipment.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns immediately.
  • Report safety incidents and near misses when they occur.
  • Consistently meet or exceed distribution productivity, quality, and timeliness expectations.
  • Transport skids of products to designated spaces.
  • Pick products from proper bin locations for customer orders and vendor returns.
  • Load and unload products, recyclable materials, empty pallets, and other materials using equipment and pallet jacks.
  • Facilitate stocking of all inbound merchandise and re-stock from other departments.
  • Process all palletized shipments, including UPS Freight, FEDEX Freight, and Best Way orders.
  • Pick and process all orders that have the command line (Palletized Shipment).
  • Load UPS Freight, FEDEX Freight, and Best Way trailers.
  • Inspect boxes and products for visible damage before shipment, ensuring proper size and fit, and correct if necessary.
  • Unload trucks using equipment or a pallet jack and acknowledge freight bills from all carriers as needed.
  • Communicate and support Traffic Coordinators.
  • Replenish primary bin locations, rotate, and consolidate products.
  • Unload trucks, sort, and receive products by PO, mail, returns, and supplies.
  • Accurately count products and compare them to vendor packing slips.
  • Sign off for freight coming in from different carriers.
  • Perform quality control processing using RF scanners/IDS system for all inbound merchandise.
  • Communicate with the receiving office to resolve discrepancy purchase orders.
  • Cube items properly and bundle items together when there are multiple pieces to an item.
  • Update customer accounts through data entry.
  • Process all daily merchandise and forward to designated areas: restock, vendor returns, repairs, b-stock, damages, installs, and refusals.
  • Research return discrepancies and work with various CDW departments on approval/resolution of unauthorized returns.
  • Sort returned merchandise by disposition.
  • Pick and process pick/pack, speed picks, and ready ship product using a hanging QC station or portable RF scanner, including placing non-conveyorable product in designated areas for pick up.
  • Maintain conveyor flow by keeping the conveyors and sensors clear.
  • Pack boxes using bubbles or other packing material to ensure a secure shipment.
  • Inspect boxes and products for visible damage before shipment, ensuring proper size and fit, and correct if necessary, including inspecting fragile items for proper over-packing with bubble bags.
  • Manually load trailers in the freight area while correctly verifying and matching shipping labels to carrier trucks.
  • Fill totes for Small Side Put Away Stocking.
  • Research stock areas to identify the location of products using AS400.
  • Assist the receiving department by cutting box flaps and processing inbound merchandise.
  • Work with the shipping department to ensure that all customer orders are filled.
  • Rotate throughout the stocking department performing various stocking functions. May be asked to rotate to other job functions in the warehouse, including cross-department functions, for training and operational purposes.
  • Assist various departments, including customer service requests.
  • Assist with inventory and distribution of warehouse and office supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
