Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is seeking dedicated Material Handlers to join our team at the Gigafactory in Sparks, NV, where we collaborate with Tesla Motors, Inc. to manufacture large-scale advanced batteries. This role is crucial as we aim to double the world's current production of cylindrical lithium-ion cells, which are essential for leading electric vehicle manufacturers. As a Material Handler, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes, contributing to a cleaner energy future. We are proud to offer a starting pay of $22 per hour, with all shifts available, and free transportation from the Carson City area to the job site. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for performing daily operational checks on mobile equipment, including inspecting the condition of forks, lift mechanisms, and brakes. You will also be tasked with the receipt and transport of raw materials using various mobile equipment, such as manual and ride-on pallet jacks and lift trucks. Your ability to accurately recognize part numbers and lot numbers will be essential, as will your problem-solving skills related to equipment and material issues. Communication with co-workers regarding the status of materials and products is key, as is providing appropriate documentation to downstream customers. We are looking for individuals who can work effectively in a team environment and are willing to perform duties at varying levels as assigned. A safety-conscious attitude is paramount, and familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling is preferred. This position requires physical stamina, as you will be expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and manage physical demands such as lifting and moving heavy pallets.
