About The Position

As a Material Handler, you’ll safely and efficiently move, load, unload, and organize materials and products throughout our production facility. You’ll operate various types of equipment, help maintain accurate inventory, and play an important role in supporting a safe, organized, and productive work environment. Shift: 1st

Requirements

  • Fork Lift Certification
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
  • Able to work outdoors year-round, including in varying weather conditions, to unload flatbeds and maintain the dock and staging areas.
  • Attention to detail and strong reliability.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write in English.
  • Demonstrate good problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and 5S workplace organization standards is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift and hand cart equipment to move materials through receiving, manufacturing, and shipping.
  • Ensure safe transit of loads when loading and unloading trucks.
  • Proactively plan material movements.
  • Inspect pallets and repair pallets, or reload material to new pallets, as needed.
  • Organize materials in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner.
  • Participate in cycle counting and physical inventory and record inventory transactions in ERP system.
  • Recognize material defects and stock levels and report discrepancies per established processes.
  • Separate and prepare materials for shipment.
  • Operate baler equipment and maintain baler room area. Maintain scrap and recycle trailers.
  • Evaluate materials for required documentation, defects, and potential environmental hazards.
  • Proactively help to create and work within a team-based environment and practice effective communication skills.
