Job Summary The material handler position will support plant operations by managing material movements throughout the manufacturing process. , staging, retrieving and stocking material in required areas.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Forklift Certification Required.
  • 1-3 years of material handling and inventory control experience (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with a computerized, perpetual inventory management system (preferred).
  • Basic computer skills, (e.g., Microsoft Office, especially in excel).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective math and reading skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Organizational skills; ability to work with little supervision

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of material handling and inventory control experience (preferred).
  • Previous experience working with a computerized, perpetual inventory management system (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment, observes and follows all safety polices, wears appropriate and prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain safe & orderly storage area by arranging material, products and equipment as required.
  • Operate forklift in safe and expedient manner to complete job duties.
  • Completes daily required forklift safety checklist.
  • Must practice good housekeeping (i.e. removing used brass, emptying trash, picking up and weighing scrap, moving scrap to appropriate areas, sweeping and cleaning wasted compound in storage areas, etc.)
  • Coordinates flow of materials, parts, and assemblies between Warehouse and Shop Floor, according to production and shipping schedules and/or production priorities.
  • Arranges materials to meet production schedules and executes inventory transactions as required.
  • Interfaces with Production Planning and the Shipping/Receiving Clerk on the completion of work orders for schedule and status updates.
  • Communicates with Plant Management and Production Planning to resolve shipping/receiving, inventory, and product discrepancies.
  • Counts, weighs, measures items for outgoing shipments and incoming receipts and raw materials per procedures.
  • Receives and ships material and products, and distributes material to the shop floor.
  • Ensure that product is organized, stacked and stored appropriately in accordance with the facilities inventory process.
  • Complete required shipping/ receiving paperwork (i.e. load sheets, etc.) correctly and accurately.
  • Ensures that all areas are stocked with the appropriate level of materials to include (i.e. boxes, disks, ties, fittings collar guards, finished product, skids, compounds, etc.) as identified on the product specification sheet.
  • Removes finished product from front-end operations and is transitioned to shrink wrap machine in preparation for shipping or staging process.
