About The Position

This position will transport master rolls, pallets and other materials or supplies to slitting machines as stated on the work order and/or ISO document. This position will transport finished product to designated areas, operate core cutters, break down base roll film rolls and provide assistance to slitter operators for other duties when needed. Must be willing to work Monday - Thursday, 6:45AM - 7PM. Must be able to work required OT.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), one to three years of experience preferred
  • Ability to work at a fast pace
  • Ability to multi task and read production tickets
  • Ability to perform math calculations including fractions
  • Must be able to read tape measure, including micrometers
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be dedicated to continuous improvement
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, bend, stretch, or stand for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge and the ability to use the ISO program system to its’ potential. This includes the ability to locate and follow the ISO document. This includes double check and data collection procedures currently in place.
  • Strong knowledge and ability to transfer data such as but not limited to; daily production log book, quality control documents or forms used in the production process. This includes the ability to produce labels for all necessary products/materials.
  • Strong knowledge of the production schedule and other related documents necessary to produce and meet customer orders including those with special instructions.
  • Knowledge and experience to successfully communicate to the manager, supervisor or maintenance personnel lift truck (sit-down, stand-up and/or Bendi) malfunctions in a timely manner to ensure production downtime is kept to a minimum. This would include trouble shooting or working with manager, supervisor and/or maintenance personnel to identify the malfunction or repair needed.
  • Knowledge and experience of the lift truck program, before shift equipment inspections and the completion of daily inspection forms.
  • Knowledge and experience of core cutters and their operational functions.
  • Must maintain a current certification in lift truck operation.
  • Must comply with all current handbook policies and procedures.
  • Must comply with all current safety policies and procedures. This includes personal protection equipment. This includes recognition of lock out / tag out when being performed in any area of the converting department.
  • Will gain knowledge and experience of slitting machines and their operational functions which would include but not limited to; machine set-up, master roll identification, production speeds (input or output), start and stop functions, change over, machine specific tools and proper lock out/tag out procedures
  • Will gain knowledge and experience to detect incorrect materials (input or output) and report them to the appropriate persons.
  • Will gain knowledge and experience of the AS400 system which includes but is not limited to: entering, revising or closing a work order.
  • Performs jobs or duties as instructed by Management or Supervision
