About The Position

JOB PURPOSE: The Material Handler is responsible for safely and efficiently storing, moving, and managing materials within the warehouse or production environment. This role supports smooth operations by ensuring materials are accurately handled, tracked, and delivered where needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment to move materials between storage areas, loading docks, and production lines. • Pull and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring all material movements are accurately documented. • Track and maintain inventory levels by identifying, labeling, and recording materials and storage locations. • Adjust or replace basic equipment parts (e.g., rollers, belts, plugs, caps) using hand tools. • Assemble product containers, crates, and pallets using hand tools and precut lumber. • Install protective materials—including bracing, padding, or strapping—to prevent damage during transportation. • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to all safety procedures and company policies. • Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse and production efficiency. COMPETENCIES: • Knowledge of raw materials, manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and cost-efficient distribution methods. • Ability to identify and select the proper tools and equipment needed for various tasks. • Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting inventory and collaborating with team members. • High attention to detail and accuracy when handling and recording materials. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a factory environment with regular exposure to machinery, moving equipment, and variable temperatures. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS: • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks. • Sufficient arm strength and manual dexterity for repetitive grasping, manipulation, and assembly work. • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stretching, twisting, and reaching. • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and safety shoes.

Requirements
