About The Position

The primary responsibility of this position is the loading and unloading of trucks, pulling orders, cleaning the yard and warehouse areas, and assisting customers. General – As Harbin Lumber Company, Inc. is a group of locations each working individually and as a team, the Warehouse or Yard Assistant must be a team player and must develop positive working relationships with all location personnel, Outside Sales Representatives, and other Company employees. Requirements

• None required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• The skill to operate a forklift and to pass the Forklift Operator Written Licensing Exam
• Good math and reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Unloading vendor trucks
• Receiving and unloading trucks.
• Storing all incoming materials in proper location promptly.
• Inventory.
• Assisting with inventory cycle counts.
• Maintaining inventory in a neat and logical manner.
• Ensuring no materials leave the yard or warehouse without a ticket.
• Pulling orders for shipment.
• Safety.
• Complying with Company safety policy.
• Maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
• Operating all material handling equipment in a safe manner.
• Reporting all safety concerns immediately to the Warehouse and/or Yard Manager.
• Shipping.
• Ensuring all shipments and customer pickups are done completely and accurately.
• Loading all materials properly to allow a safe delivery.
• Pulling orders for shipment as directed.
