About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and processing incoming materials, verifying them against purchase orders or packing slips. They accurately stage, store, and retrieve materials based on production schedules and inventory needs. This role involves operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks (PITs) in a safe and efficient manner, and performing inventory transactions in warehouse management or ERP systems. The Material Handler supports production by ensuring timely and accurate delivery of materials, conducts routine cycle counts, and assists in root cause analysis for inventory discrepancies. They maintain proper documentation for shipping, receiving, and inventory movements, and follow all safety protocols and participate in safety initiatives. The position involves frequent exposure to warehouse or manufacturing environments, requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1–2 years of material handling, warehouse, or logistics experience.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret bills of materials, work orders, and shipping documents.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory software (e.g., WMS, ERP).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Familiarity with barcode scanners or RF devices.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under minimal supervision.
