About The Position

Davis Tool, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler. The Material Handler is responsible for moving jobs between work centers to maintain smooth work flow. Material Handlers are part of the warehouse team and will learn warehouse functions such as closing jobs, kitting, and shipping. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor. Monday-Friday Work Week: Swing Shift: 3:15 PM - 11:45 PM (5% Shift Differential) Daily tasks include: Moving materials using forklifts, pallet jacks and carts to and from work centers Accurately updating job status in the computer Organizing and maintaining work flow through staging areas and in short-term storage Walking, standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending and moving material in a 200K square foot facility for the entire shift Lifting and handling objects weighing up to 50lbs Reporting status of expedited jobs Communicating with leaders and peers about problems and possible solutions Assembling and delivering job packets Keeping work areas clear of remnant materials Moving internal mail May include backup coverage for receptionist

Requirements

  • Strong verbal communication and teamwork skills
  • Good reading, writing, computer, and arithmetic skills
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Attention to detail and work accurately
  • Must be 18 years old or older

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience or have taught or trained others
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
