Our Fort Wayne facility is a union manufacturing plant with approximately 155 employees operating on three shifts. The site is a pouring and specialized post processing operation. Capabilities include pouring, fabricating, felting, reticulation (2 styles) and block. As a key location within FXI’s manufacturing network, the Fort Wayne plant is known for its strong focus on quality, safety, and operational excellence. Team members work in a collaborative, supportive environment where continuous improvement and innovation play a central role.

Requirements

  • Training for Right-To-Know, Emergency Response, and tow motor safe operation.
  • Gloves, protective clothing.
  • Towmotors, scales, drum carts, come along, and battery charging unit.
  • Lifting up to 100 lbs.,
  • Bending, stooping, climbing, walking and standing on concrete floors for long periods, riding and maneuvering at towmotors for long periods.
  • Non air-conditioned work area. Frequent blasts of cold air in winter months form loading door area.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload railcars and trailers according to written and oral load sheets at Plant.
  • Operate towmotor in the loading and unloading of railcars and trailers.
  • Move foam to loading areas by hand or with powered equipment.
  • Final quality assurance inspection duties before loading and must be able to identify and react to foam defects- holes, splits, poor structure, contamination, dimensions, etc. Must be able to identify different grades and pore sizes in scrap foam bales.
  • Inspect trailers for damage prior to loading or off-loading goods.
  • Inspects and periodically performs basic maintenance of towmotors prior to use.
  • Search for and locates orders for shipment throughout plant production areas.
  • Must perform other duties as directed by their supervisor when not acting as a Material Handler/Driver.
