About The Position

GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring a Shipping and Receiving Material Handler to join our Materials team in Hart.

Requirements

  • Technical Experience: Material Handling and industrial forklift operations.
  • Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and QAD Knowledge
  • Analytical Skills: Basic math skills. Ability to comprehend and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety procedures, and operating procedures. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of manufacturing variables, attention to detail is a must.
  • Decision Making: Good decision making, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job. Ability to obtain industrial powered truck license.

Responsibilities

  • Locate product in stores locations and pull parts per customer requirements
  • Prepare, complete, or maintain all necessary manual reporting documents, records, or electronic data systems
  • Complete shipper, invoice, customs, invoice, master bill of lading forms and print the ship summary. Create staging sheets, print lot sequence sheets.
  • Prepare products for shipment by pulling customer requirements, scan to correct ship to location, wrap and label for shipment as needed.
  • Verify and load product on proper truck per customer specifications
  • Prepare miscellaneous shipments and complete all paperwork as required.
  • Pull Kanban signal from designated finished goods.
  • Ensure incoming materials meet quality standards.
  • Label and scan incoming products to stores location.
  • Make appropriate product location transfers as required.
  • Ensure accurate Receiving Dock location clear in QAD.
  • Ensure all deliveries are processed, documented, and handled in accordance with C-TPAT guidelines.
  • Communicate non-conformances to appropriate individuals.
  • Conduct pre-shift checklist and industrial powered truck safety checklist daily
  • Participate in continuous improvement and safety problem solving and activities.
  • Perform all 5S housekeeping tasks.
  • Participate as a member of the Materials Team
  • Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
