About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Material Handler - Day Shift to join our team located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota . This position sets up assembly cells to meet schedules and minimize change over time. Checks parts, quality, and keeps cells loaded with materials needed to build orders. Apprises Team Leader of potential problems. Receives, stores/kanbans, coordinates schedules, and sets up parts in the cart scheduling staging area. Day Shift Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. We Offer You! Will have an impact on the success of the company Visibility and access to leaders within the company Growth Potential Collaborative and Team-Oriented environment What Success Looks Like: Keeps cells adequately stocked with components Stores/Replenishes kanban storage area Keep Team Leader informed of inventory needs Gives assistance to teammates as needed Performs periodic quality checks on individual teammates Works in assembly cells as time permits to assist with timely order completion Performs housekeeping on a regular basis to ensure a safe working environment Keep the storage area clean, organized, and well-marked/labeled Deliver material to the staging areas Performs other related duties as assigned Your Credentials: Forklift certification will be required; previous experience is preferred Ability to move pallets, load trucks, and move other items safely throughout the plant as necessary Basic computer skills Ability to use scanners Ability to follow instructions, label cartons, and prioritize daily shipments Ability to understand your responsibilities regarding safety and OSHA regulations The hourly rate of pay for this position is $18.00/hour, commensurate with experience. Requirements

  • Forklift certification will be required; previous experience is preferred
  • Ability to move pallets, load trucks, and move other items safely throughout the plant as necessary
