Universal Logistics is seeking a Material Handler to help organize our storage areas and maintain accurate inventory. Your job will be to prepare and fulfil orders fast and correctly so we can provide high-quality customer service to service technicians in different facilities in Oakland, CA. 1st Shift Available 8:30am - 5pm Starting Pay: $30/hour

Requirements

  • Knowledge of distribution and shipping methods
  • Proven experience as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate or similar position
  • Basic computer knowledge including excel and warehouse management systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks)
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job e.g. standing for long periods of time, lifting boxes less than 35 lbs.)
  • Availability to occasionally work overtime
  • Experience in packaging material to ensure safe delivery to its final destination

Responsibilities

  • Monitor SF Parts request sheet for new request and fulfilling them
  • The person will be required to work out of multiple sites (2) – which are only 10 mins apart.
  • Check Monitor dashboard to see if commonly replaced parts at your facility are getting low
  • Coordinate parts movement to ensure on hand availability at each facility is set to support common demands of the facility
  • Fulfilling stocked parts movement to ensure parts requests/external shipment requests as they come in
  • Checking for inventory custody transfers
  • Create Jira Tickets for MRB items and add to tracker
  • Kitting for your respective location
  • Respond to inquiries in inventory management support channel to support company needs
  • General cleaning and organization
  • Print and attach part number labels to new product as it comes in
  • Perform location to location product transfers to make sure that we do not run into storage or shortage issues
  • Complete cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Unblock work orders and set to pending as out of stock parts become available
  • Verify stock levels of commonly used supplies for shipping to ensure proper packaging is always available
  • Check in with service leads to see if there is anything else we can do to support the growing company/parts demands
  • Attend daily staff meetings
  • Hand off parts directly to technicians or stage in hot parts racks for replacements or repairs if the AV is not in the facility
