About The Position

Ontic’s Creedmoor, NC, site is home to a number of specialist companies within the Ontic Group, including Firstmark, Twin Commander, and Metro Merlin. With over 1,300 employees across four time zones and seven sites, Ontic has more than doubled in size since 2019 and is continuing to grow at pace. The team is looking for an experienced Material Handler to join them. This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and has an onsite work schedule in Creedmoor, NC. The Material Handler will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of materials within the assigned stockroom while accurately maintaining inventory levels. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The schedule is a Weekend Shift – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Two years of previous stockroom and inventory experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and occasional weekends.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in using ERP inventory management software and data entry tools.
  • Must be able to safely lift 20-30 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • This position requires frequent standing, lifting and squatting.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and receive materials into the stockroom, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  • Manage material movement within the stockroom and plant, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials using various equipment.
  • Work with a team to maintain an efficient and accurate inventory management process consistent with company policy.
  • Store and organize materials effectively, ensuring proper labeling and traceability.
  • Perform kitting activities, assembling components according to specified instructions.
  • Fill orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely fulfillment of customer requirements while maintaining accurate records of transactions.
  • Enter inventory data into our ERP system, maintaining up-to-date records of stock levels and movements.
  • Process accurate perpetual inventory adjustments to match physical inventory movement, when necessary.
  • Maintain product identification and location programs.
  • Research inventory discrepancies and ability to reconcile them, must be detailed oriented.
  • All other duties as assigned.
