About The Position

Our Findlay Manufacturing team is looking for Material Handlers to load, unload, move, stack, transfer, count, and sort various parts, materials, or products either manually by hand, equipment, or power vehicle. Please note that not all positions are driving-focused and new hires may be assigned to non-driving material handling tasks to start. For positions that involve driving, Power Vehicle Operators (tow motor/stand up and sit down forklift/tugger drivers) operate power vehicle equipment in accordance with company regulations, requirements, and safety instructions. Follow standard delivery schedules/routes throughout the plant. Perform routine maintenance and equipment reporting as required. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • At least 18 years old or older
  • 3+ months of experience driving a tugger or forklift in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • 1 year of consistent work experience

  • Forklift or power vehicle experience

Responsibilities

  • Receives verbal or written instruction from departmental supervisor, area supervisor, or expeditors as to work assignments.
  • Must be able to communicate and receive communications regarding safety components and job instruction.
  • Works from printed/digital manifest for picking orders.
  • Picks up, transports, and positions or tiers a variety of parts or materials as directed.
  • As required, selects, hunts, or sorts material to be moved.
  • Returns empty containers of various types to predetermined locations.
  • Submits written reports pertaining to condition of vehicle, I.e. gas, water, oil, hydraulic pressure, general operating condition, etc.
  • Changes propane gas tanks as required, uses correct clamping pressure, following established procedures.
  • Exercises care of product quality in transporting or stacking material.
  • Transports, changes, moves, loads, or unloads material from container to container or forks as required, manually or utilizing material handling equipment.
  • Does miscellaneous off truck material handling as required.
  • Must work the required number of hours as determined by department, shift and position.
  • Performs duties of a similar or lesser skill to facilitate the flow of work in the department.
  • Successfully complete company training/safety program
