About The Position

Wastequip has a great opportunity for a Material Handler Lead at their Otay Mesa, CA facility. The Material Handler Lead is the main point of contact at the facility that manages all loads arriving and departing the yard as well as maintaining the building. Pay starting at $22.00/HR Essential Duties and Responsibilities Review and verify part numbers and quantities on all shipments bound for the Tijuana facility to ensure accuracy for customs purposes Use forklift to unload raw materials and finished goods to be staged in the Otay property and sign necessary paperwork Use forklift to load customer finished goods onto necessary equipment and obtain signature of bill of lading Ensure all documentation/paperwork/COD checks are sent to proper individuals in a timely manner Track and maintain via proper documentation the accuracy of staged inventory in the Otay property; both raw material and finished goods to report to the proper individuals Maintain the shop keeping and landscaping of the building and property in compliance with 5S standards Perform minor maintenance functions and assist in securing contractors for more difficult ones Review and verify inventory at any offsite locations and perform errands outside of property Perform basic Office computer skills to communicate with Tijuana facility Ensures completion of daily inspections & maintenance of fork trucks and electric pallet jacks. Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager. Education and Experience Education and/ or experience high school diploma or GED, 1-2+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language skills, basic math skills, tape measure reading Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions Ability to be certified by our company to drive a forklift.
