About The Position

The Material Handler will assist with preparation of the paint-line and painting of powder coating fabricated materials, load/unload of steel parts from line, and assist with movement of material within the premises.

Requirements

  • Simple problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
  • Good manual dexterity.
  • Demonstrates proper decision-making skills when needed.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
  • Ability to bend, stand, twist and stoop for long periods of time.
  • Have good vision with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises and vibration from use of equipment and the following:
  • Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin- fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation.
  • Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use measuring tools (preferred).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Load/Unload powder coated fabricated steel parts from washer line.
  • Disassemble designated unpainted parts and accessories and reassemble after painting.
  • Maintain washer line for powder coating.
  • Prepare, set up, and test paint spraying.
  • Mix coating materials in accordance with specifications.
  • Inspects products prior to painting and rejects if product does not meet requirements.
  • Apply powder coating when required to fill any surface imperfections.
  • Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position.
  • Work under direct supervision.
  • Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
