LOCATION: Downers Grove, Illinois BASE RATE PER HOUR: $24.00 SHIFT: Days HOURS: Generally, starts as early as 6:00 AM until finish. Overtime and weekend work as needed. Starting times and hours may vary depending on coverage due to report-offs and the production schedule especially during holidays. Good attendance and punctuality required. JOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES: • Supplies needed ingredients and returns unused ingredients to Scaling, Mixer Helper, Oven. Supplies needed packaging materials to all packaging areas as needed for daily production as well. • Unloads products and supplies using pallet jack or forklift. • Check quality of incoming materials and sanitizes, communicating with Quality Assurance as needed. • Rotates product by code date. • Repositioning drums of up to 250lbs. • Prepares and maintains Lot Code Traceability records. • Requires thorough knowledge of ingredients and their storage locations, as well as reading scaling and packaging schedules. • Responsible for maintenance of 5S within all storage areas. • Excellent records relevant to Lot Code Traceability and 5S programs are required. • Excellent communication skills required for relaying information to Scalers, Mixer Helpers, Supervisors, Maintenance, and QA on issues needing attention. • Works with super sacks daily • Will complete cycle counts on ingredients as needed • Work with inventory coordinators daily to verify physical counts with SAP counts. Makes any adjustments as needed. • Experience utilizing computerized systems. • Demonstrated attention to detail. • Will assist with receiving materials and putting them away on a regular basis • Shipping break relief, if time allows • Other duties as assigned The successful completion of training and demonstrated skill along with good performance evaluations can lead to advancement to a Material Handler I level. Expectations are that this position will provide coverage as needed for the following responsibilities. • All receiving functions including, but not limited to inspections of inbound deliveries for products and trailers, knowledge of good inventory practices and warehouse storage requirements, SAP transactions, proper documentation and lot code traceability practices, vendor and schedule management, 5S/housekeeping responsibilities • All bulk flour functions including, but not limited to unloading railcars safely and efficiently, unloading bulk flour tankers, SAP transactions, flour inventory management, inspections, quality testing, proper documentation and lot code traceability practices, vendor and schedule management, 5S/housekeeping responsibilities • All bulk liquid functions, including but not limited to unloading liquid tankers safely and efficiently, SAP transactions, bulk liquids inventory management, inspections, quality testing, proper documentation and lot code traceability practices, vendor and schedule management, 5S/housekeeping responsibilities Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Decision Making Skills: Must have strong decision making and communication skills. They must have the ability to utilize/exercise good judgment, and they must ensure issues are quickly resolved and communicated with supervision. Fill out communication boards daily. • Food Safety Awareness: Food safety awareness is critical in this position. This position will be held accountable to having a full understanding and adherence to the strictest compliance standards, in relation to HACCP, CTS, GMP, and/JSA procedure and standards related to this position. Focused awareness and prevention of contamination/ potential contamination, allergen control, and lot code traceability are key objectives in this role. • Formula Control: Formula control is vital to ensuring compliance to label management of our products. Must abide to exact formula specifications and procedures, to ensure bread quality standards are maintained and label contents are aligned. • Maintains work area to "5S" cleanliness, housekeeping and organizational standard.

  • Qualified applicant will have thorough knowledge of all HACCP/CTS/GMP/JSA/SOP policies and procedures for Scaling, Mixer Helper and Packaging Utility positions
  • Must possess a high school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent. Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
