Under general supervision, the S0-05 Material Handler will deliver, receive, inspect, and store all food products, equipment and supplies for a dining unit, in a safe and timely manner. Additionally, this role will assist with inventory management to help manage food costs and may perform other duties including dishwashing, cleaning, stocking and assisting on the serving line in their assigned unit(s). Likely daily tasks include: Plan, coordinate and implement safe product deliveries as well as receive food, equipment and supplies- verifying all goods against order sheets and invoices ensuring all products are damage free and unspoiled. Assist management with all inventory activity, regularly checking inventory levels, advising on stock levels and ordering needs as well as processing routine ordering of food and supplies. Maintaining cleanliness, stock levels, and organization of their assigned areas ensuring proper rotation of stock Ensuring that sanitary, HACCP, and NY State Health codes and procedures are maintained in assigned areas including, but not limited to, temperatures, safe handling procedures, proper sanitary restraints and uniforms. Assist, as needed, in other areas of the kitchen and interact directly with customers and vendors, fielding feedback to management t o ensure customer satisfaction A successful S0-05 Material Handler will be customer-service driven, flexible, and team-oriented. This role should have strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize multiple projects/tasks in a face-paced environment. Additionally, this role will embrace Cornell Dining’s Code of Professionalism to ensure we achieve Cornell Dining’s overarching mission.
