About The Position

The Material Handler is to ensure proper handling of all production materials, to support machine operators with the proper and adequate material to run the machine and that all materials are stored and transported to the point of use in a safe, timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 6 months of relevant manufacturing experience, preferred
  • Current forklift certification or ability to obtain certification, preferred
  • This position requires continual use of hands, considerable use of arms and legs and moving whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Must be able to stand, overhead reach, bend, twist, crouch and lift periodically throughout the shift. Must be able to frequently lift 15 – 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and stand and walk long periods of time throughout an 8 hour shift with repetitive hand and arm movements without physical restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver proper material to appropriate machines
  • Drain and clean machine hoppers from previous jobs and remove all materials from machines, as required
  • Continually monitor material levels at machines throughout entire shift
  • Obtain a list of materials that need mixed from Inventory Control Coordinator
  • Assure all gaylords and barrels have lids to prevent contamination, while working to reduce material losses from spillage and/or improper mixes
  • Check feeders to make sure they have air running to them
  • Make sure to fill all material dryers with proper material and documentation is correct
  • Make sure all material are properly identified and labeled
  • Clean up all spilled material, as needed
  • Monitor raw material and colorant inventory levels and communicate restocking needs to shipping area
  • Assist with machine operator breaks and run auto machines, when assigned
  • Work with Grinders to ensure proper labeling of materials
  • Prepare Mexico shipments in coordination with Shipping Manager
  • Accurately record and log all pertinent information onto applicable recordkeeping forms
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, according to Company procedures
  • Perform other job duties as assigned
