About The Position

Royal Canin is seeking a Material Handler to join our exciting pet food business at a Fremont, NE manufacturing plant. We focus on the unique needs of cats and dogs. The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Shipping Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement. Shipping Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other associates in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

Requirements

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
  • Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language
  • Forklift certified
  • Knowledge of inventory computer systems WMS
  • Food manufacturing experience and knowledge of food safety
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  • Perform periodic and routine inventories of raw materials in storage
  • Provide and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment
  • Assist in other production, sanitation, maintenance, and quality activity in other areas as directed
  • Perform housekeeping and sanitation procedures
  • Provide functional communication with other staff members as necessary to optimize quality, efficiency, productivity and safety
  • Loading trucks, live loads and staged loads
  • Ability to operate Fork lift – (Expert Level)
  • Direct ship responsibility including proper disposition of hold product, food safety hold product and released product
  • WMS, BOL responsibility / accountability
  • Support Warehouse Area Lead with all activities associated with shipping department
