About The Position

The Material Handler is responsible for performing a variety of material movement and manufacturing support functions to ensure customer and production orders are fulfilled accurately, efficiently, and safely. This position supports production operations by moving, storing, staging, loading, unloading, and tracking materials in accordance with the production schedule and company procedures. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Previous manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience operating specialized material handling equipment, including articulating arm forklifts handling loads up to 26 feet in length.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions and work orders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Basic mathematical proficiency, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and accurately interpret measurements and increments.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to safely operate heavy machinery, hand tools, and power tools.
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanical principles, and basic quality standards.
Ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team.
Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and push or pull up to 150 pounds.
Frequent use of hands to handle, touch, or manipulate materials.
Ability to operate specialized material handling equipment, including articulating arm forklifts handling loads up to 26 feet in length.
Ability to read reports, work orders, and other documentation.
Adequate vision (including color perception and peripheral vision) and hearing to safely perform job duties.
This position regularly works in environments exposed to noise, temperature fluctuations (hot and cold), dust, dirt, moving mechanical parts, fumes, odors, and heavy industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of specialized material handling equipment, including articulating arm forklifts handling packages up to 26 feet in length.
Execute material movements according to work tickets, production schedules, and written instructions.
Unload, store, relocate, and adjust raw materials as directed.
Accurately track and record all material movements using company technology systems to support inventory control and reporting.
Move, stage, and manage in-process materials and work-in-progress inventory.
Properly package, seal, and prepare products for shipment.
Load finished goods, packaged materials, and other products onto delivery and freight trucks safely and efficiently.
Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of material handling equipment in accordance with the Preventive Maintenance Program.
Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down processing equipment and machinery as required.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with company safety standards.
Assist the Manufacturing Supervisor with inventory tracking and maintenance.
Report equipment malfunctions, product defects, or operational concerns to the Department Team Leader.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.
