Job Title: Material Handler Department: Warehouse FLSA: Hourly SUMMARY Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Minimum of one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • The use of basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and proportions are required.
  • Ability to successfully complete the in-house fork truck operation course and obtain appropriate license is required.
  • The ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and the ability to effectively present information to all levels of employees including top management in a variety of settings is required.
  • The ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists is required.
  • The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is required.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, talk, walk, hear, reach with hands and arms, stoop and bend.
  • The employee must seldom lift and/or move more than 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have the ability to work all shift schedules, periodic overtime and be available for periodic weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions in an accurate and expedited fashion to maintain an efficient and continuous flow of materials, parts, assemblies and/or produce goods between departments. This includes data entry and transactional documentation.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Communicate unresolved issues identified during the shift to the department supervisor and order status and/or special-order requirements to oncoming shift personnel.
  • Operates a lift truck to move materials in accordance with the stated safety guidelines.
  • Contributes to ensure continued compliance to company standards.
  • Performs physical audits, investigates and resolves inventory discrepancies.
  • Compiles documentation from customer specifications.
  • Cleans and organizes applicable work area.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of daily computer system(s).
  • Maintains a safe and orderly general facility appearance.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Follows the applicable Versatility Chart.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
