About The Position

POSITION PURPOSE The Material Handler performs various material movement & manufacturing functions to ensure product orders are accurately fulfilled. This position moves, stores, fills requests for material movement, loads & unloads freight, etc. of products efficiently and safely according to the production schedule. POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role, an individual must be able to perform in a satisfactory manner the functions/responsibilities listed below. Essential Functions Demonstrated proficiency on specialized material handling equipment Make material movements based on orders according to work ticket instructions. Unload, store, move, adjust, etc. any and all raw materials according to instructions. Track all material movements with current technology for accurate reporting & inventory management. Store, move, adjust, etc. any and all in-process materials and goods according to instructions. Appropriately package and seal products. Store, move, adjust, etc. and load any and all finished goods, packaged products, and materials onto delivery trucks and or freight trucks. Diligently maintain material handling equipment according to Preventive Maintenance Program. Start up, operate, and shut down processing equipment and machinery. Maintain a clean and organized work station. SECONDARY FUNCTIONS Assist MFG Supervisor in tracking and maintaining inventory. Notify the Department Team Leader of problems with equipment, devices, or products. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED is required.
Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26’ in length (articulating arm forklift).
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to read and follow written instructions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Basic mathematical skills to analyze, review, and process orders accurately; an ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers and above average ability to interpret measurements and increments.
Ability to prioritize, organize, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to operate heavy machinery, basic hand tools, and power tools.
Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26’ in length (articulating arm forklift).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, mechanics, and basic quality principles.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to stand and walk continually.
Demonstrated proficiency and abilities with specialized material handling equipment and packages up to 26’ in length (articulating arm forklift).
Ability to lift 100 pounds and push or pull 150 pounds; an ability to use hands to touch, handle, or feel.
Ability to see, including the use of color perception and peripheral vision; an ability to hear and speak clearly.
Ability to read reports, orders, and other documentation.
This position is frequently exposed to noise, cold or hot temperatures, dirt/dust, moving parts, fumes/odors, and heavy machinery and equipment.

Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.
