Reporting to the Manufacturing Lead, this position requires the employee to be able to work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with all Company safety rules. You must be able to recognize and identify colors and various material styles. This position requires excellent communication skills and must be able to work as a Team Player in a Team environment. As a team member of the department, you will be required to provide optimal production in the department. Flexibility is necessary to perform other functions as needed. This includes, but not limited to, inventory related activities, and cross-training opportunities in other departments. This position must be able to maintain a neat, clean, and orderly work area and maintain good housekeeping, and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have strong knowledge of all product lines.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of production within the department.
  • Participate in communication meetings.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
  • Reading, writing and math skills commensurate with job duties.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must be able to recognize colors and different cloth styles.
  • Sitting or standing for 8 hours a day or longer.
  • Ability to work in an environment with repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, and elbows.
  • May require lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work all mandatory overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining an uninterrupted flow of orders through the department.
  • Expedites rush and specialty orders to insure their timely delivery to the customer.
  • Makes sure all areas have adequate stock to fill orders.
  • Lead trainer for new employees, including seasonal warehouse processing staff.
  • Assists in checking finished product quality to meet standards
  • Coordinates priority of orders to be completed.
  • Will learn to inspect all component parts to make certain they meet our quality standards and correspond to the bundling ticket.
  • Will learn how to operate the automated machinery in your department.
  • Will learn about all product lines.
  • Responsible for finished product meeting all quality standards.
  • Responsible for cleaning machine, changing needles, thread, etc. to meet the machine’s needs.
  • Responsible for joining materials using multi needle sewing devices, as needed.
  • Work in other departments and work areas/machinery as needed.
  • Stocking of binding, zippers, thread, ect.
  • Getting paperwork ready for work in process, for all components.
  • Help lead keep orders in line for the team, for continuous work flow.
