About The Position

The Material Handler prepares materials on a timely basis to be used in the production of injection molded plastic parts. Reconciles inventory and completes production reporting to ensure the accuracy of inventory at all levels of the Production Operation.

Requirements

  • High school education coursework or GED required. Post high school education or experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows based programs such as Outlook and Word. Experience with and ERP system or manufacturing software such as IQMS preferred.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence with coworkers and supervisors. Ability to effectively present information to other employees, in one-on-one and small group situations. Ability to write effective correspondence as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and understand specification drawings for inspection purposes.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions. Ability to analyze problems that deal with a number of variables. Ability to analyze reports and read data to make recommendation. Ability to problem solve to fine root-cause.
  • Must be a self starter and have the ability to apply previously learned information to similar situations. Willingness to attend classes or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is frequently required to sit/stand and use hand to manipulate very small parts or tweezers. Frequent movement throughout the facility is required. May be required to move or transport up to 55 lbs. Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision, close vision, and ability to use microscope and adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare all materials using proper drying times, temperature, weight and colorant as scheduled based on the daily schedule.
  • Complete Production Reporting for assigned shift. This includes electronically reconciling remaining inventory of raw materials at the end of each job. Verifies that all finished goods have been dispositioned.
  • Analyze and correct inventory discrepancies. Determine root cause for inventory discrepancies and provides solution to eliminate future problems. Monitor and correct inventories at the press, including resin, inserts and finished goods.
  • Complete work order instructions and proceed with production reporting and clean up inventory. Scan finished paperwork.
  • Do daily inventory checks on material, resins, inserts, etc. as needed for ongoing production.
  • Communicate with Production Scheduling, Supervisor, Operators and other support personnel as necessary to carry out duties efficiently.
  • Complete document training for employees on assigned shift.
  • Verify when production work orders are complete, and the job is ready to shut down.
  • Monitor recycling efforts in on assigned shift.
  • Other duties as required.
