About The Position

Position Summary The Material Handler will operate forklifts and manage work order transactions in the system and also throughout the plant. Load trucks, unload and receive parts, and pull stock. Streamline workflow in a safely timely and organized manner Moving material Loading/unloading material 5S duties Staging Material Computer Experience ERP System experience Shipping/Receiving: Receive inbound inventory, place material into inventory, pull inventory to fill customer orders, and load material on trucks and trailers for outbound shipment. Material Handling: Utilize hand trucks, forklifts, cranes or other material handling equipment to move material to/from trucks or trailer and within the premises. Operate forklift up to 15,000 lbs. Provide error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the output of their position. Count and wrap pallets Work under direct supervision. Support the safety and quality programs by following all accompanying rules and established processes. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Simple problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate forklift and cranes.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used practices, and procedures.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, twist and stoop for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk 2-5 miles throughout the course of a shift
  • Have good vision of 20/30 with corrective lenses.
  • Ability to maintain coordination of hand and finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects with precision.
  • Subject to environmental conditions that occur indoors and outdoors which includes but is not limited to exposure to changing temperatures, loud noises and vibration from use of equipment and the following: Hazards: Variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin- fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Oils: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs. repetitively throughout the course of a shift.
